Seize Your Seat! Get Your Tickets Before They’re Tragically Gone!

Prepare to be swept off your feet with romantic and regal ballroom scenes, spirited swordplay and poignant pas de deux as Boca Ballet Theatre portrays Shakespeare’s timeless tale of tragic love with passion and poise. Featuring guest artists Simon Ball of Houston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre’s Sarah Smith as the ill-fated lovers, combined with captivating choreography by Co-Artistic Director Dan Guin, and a sweet yet haunting score by Sergey Prokofiev from 1936.

Ms. Smith, dancing the role of Juliet Capulet, is returning to her Boca Ballet Theatre roots where she began her ballet training at the age of 11 under the tutelage of Executive Directors Jane Tyree and Dan Guin. She continued her training at The Harid Conservatory and Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Ms. Smith has performed as a guest artist with Boca Ballet Theatre since 2003, including lead roles in Coppélia and The Nutcracker. She joined American Ballet Theatre in 2004, and is a 2010 YoungArts Winner in Dance/Ballet.

Simon Ball, a principal dancer with Houston Ballet since he joined the company in 2003, will return to Boca Ballet Theatre’s stage to dance the role of Romeo Montague. His professional career began in 1995 when he joined Boston Ballet, and then danced as a principal for the company from 1999-2003. His training includes The Conservatory at Point Park College, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and American Ballet Theatre’s School of Classical Ballet. Mr. Ball has performed around the country and abroad as a guest artist, receiving several awards for his work.

From special guest artists to Boca Ballet Theatre dancers, Romeo and Juliet is dramatic and tragic, yet hopefully romantic – a performance that you will not want to miss!
