BBT Introduces its Guest Artists for "A Princely Affair"!
Boca Ballet Theatre is looking forward to its 28th “A Princely Affair” luncheon and performance, scheduled to take place at noon on Sunday, November 3rd! Presented by Baptist Health South Florida, “A Princely Affair” kicks off BBT’s 2019–2020 Season of Dance at the fabulous Boca Raton Resort & Club. This fundraising event begins with a mimosa hour, allowing guests to socialize before festivities continue with a delicious luncheon, silent auction, and a raffle for a magnificent vacation.
“A Princely Affair” culminates with a breathtaking performance by the dancers of Boca Ballet Theatre and professional guest artists, underwritten by the Edith and Martin Stein Family Foundation. Returning to the BBT stage this year are Cassandra Trenary, Soloist at American Ballet Theatre, and Sterling Baca, Principal Dancer at Pennsylvania Ballet.
Cassandra Trenary, a native of Georgia, began her dance training at Lawrenceville School of Ballet. She also trained at American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive programs as a National Training Scholar and went on to join the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in 2009. In April 2011, Trenary was offered an apprenticeship with ABT and a corps de ballet contract. She was promoted to Soloist in August 2015. Since beginning her professional career, Trenary has had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of choreographers in classical and contemporary work and has guested in galas internationally. Trenary was named a 2011 National YoungArts Foundation Winner and became a 2011 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts nominee. She is also the recipient of a 2015 Princess Grace Dance Honorarium. In 2017, Trenary received the Annenberg Fellowship for Dance.
Sterling Baca started dancing at age 11 and, after attending numerous summer programs at American Ballet Theatre, he received a full scholarship to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at ABT. He danced with American Ballet Theatre from 2010 to 2016 and was steadily promoted. In 2016, he appeared on the cover of Dance magazine for their “25 to Watch” issue. Sterling joined Pennsylvania Ballet as a Principal Dancer for the 2016/2017 season and has successfully tackled several principal roles both in repertory and full-length ballets.
