BBT Closes Out 2021-2022 Season of Dance with The Sleeping Beauty

Boca Ballet Theatre brought its 2021–2022 Season of Dance to a close with a sparkling production of The Sleeping Beauty on July 30 and 31! Audiences were in awe of guest artists Chloe Misseldine of American Ballet Theatre and Roddy Doble of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens as well as the talented cast of dancers who participated in this year’s Advanced Summer Performance Workshop!

A very special thank you to Chloe for stepping in at the last minute for Devon Teuscher, who was unfortunately injured prior to the show (get well soon, Devon!). Recently promoted to the rank of Soloist, Chloe was featured in Pointe Magazine, where she was lauded by ABT repertory director Nancy Raffa as a dancer who has “come into her own” during her time in the company. Chloe’s mother Yan Chen, a former American Ballet Theatre dancer and the current Ballet Master at the Orlando Ballet, was also a BBT guest artist, dancing the role of Gamzatti in our 1997 spring dance concert!

We are so thankful to both Chloe and Roddy for their unforgettable performances, which were made possible by Elizabeth H. Dudley and the Jorgensen Family Foundation.

Prezzo was the wonderful host for our Performance Apres event, where in addition to celebrating the success of The Sleeping Beauty, we celebrated the birthdays of Co-Artistic Director Dan Guin and beloved BBT patron Edith Stein!

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to City Mattress for supporting our production of The Sleeping Beauty and to The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation for sponsoring our 2021–2022 Season of Dance, allowing us to bring The Nutcracker, Spring Curation, and The Sleeping Beauty to the stage!

Finally, thank you to all who attended this season’s performances! Although this Season of Dance has come to a close, we cannot wait to take the stage again this November with our annual production of The Nutcracker!
