BBT nominates Loretta Parker as 2024 Woman Volunteer of the Year!
Boca Ballet Theatre is honored to nominate longtime BBT patron and volunteer Loretta Parker for the Junior League of Boca Raton’s 2024 “Woman Volunteer of the Year” Awards! Each year, non-profit organizations in Palm Beach and northern Broward County are invited to select one nominee for this prestigious award. All nominees will be honored at an annual luncheon celebrating local women who are dedicated to service and voluntarism in their communities.
Since Boca Ballet Theatre’s founding in 1992, Loretta Parker has been an active volunteer and supporter. She was introduced to BBT when her daughters started their dance training. As a member of the Boca Ballet Volunteer Guild, she sewed costumes, coordinated ushers and concessions at performances, and assisted with fundraisers like BBT’s “A Princely Affair” and annual Gala. In 1995, Loretta began a 2-year term as the Boca Ballet Theatre Guild President and led all aspects of the Guild.
Throughout her career as a loan officer at a major financial institution, Loretta has co-chaired BBT events, assisted at College Dance Fair, and chaired BBT’s inaugural Spring Cocktail Party, which has enjoyed continued success as a fundraiser and a means of introducing new families to Boca Ballet Theatre.
After retiring in 2023, Loretta took on a more active role by co-chairing BBT’s 2024 Starry Night Gala alongside her daughter Natalie Beck. Loretta has also committed to being the Co-Chair for the inaugural Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party this November! Loretta and her husband Lee have been proud supporters of Boca Ballet Theatre with both in-kind and financial support for the past 30 years.
Boca Ballet Theatre has meant so much to Loretta, as both of her daughters were exposed to the discipline and dedication needed to be a student and performer. Although neither of them pursued a career as professional dancers, both have been successful in their educational endeavors and careers! Loretta is proud to be a supporter of Boca Ballet Theatre, a nationally recognized civic dance company. BBT has also led her to lifelong friendships with the dedicated co-Artistic Directors Dan Guin and Jane Tyree and with many fellow volunteers.
Boca Ballet Theatre has brought the beauty of dance and art to Boca Raton while also nurturing and mentoring youth in the community—not only to become beautiful dancers but also successful adults. It has been Loretta’s pleasure to be part of Boca Ballet Theatre’s family and to be nominated as Woman Volunteer of the Year. We hope you’ll join us in congratulating Loretta next time you see her in the studio! We are so grateful for her continued service!
