NYCB's Emma Von Enck and Anthony Huxley return for The Nutcracker!

We are thrilled to announce that New York City Ballet’s Emma Von Enck and Anthony Huxley will return to Boca Raton on November 24-26, 2023, to star as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Emma Von Enck began her dance training at the age of five at the Royal School of Ballet with Joanne Morscher. She attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet in 2011 and 2012 before enrolling as a full-time student for the 2012 winter term. In August of 2016, Von Enck became an apprentice with NYCB. She joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in August 2017 and was promoted to the rank of soloist in January 2022. She has danced roles in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Justin Peck’s Copland Dance Episodes, Peter Martin’s The Sleeping Beauty, and Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia, among many others.
Anthony Huxley began studying at the School of American Ballet in the summers of 2002 and 2003. He enrolled as a full-time student from 2003 to 2006, and in October of 2006, he was asked to become an apprentice with New York City Ballet. In July of 2007, Huxley joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet. He was promoted to the rank of soloist in July 2011 and to principal dancer in June 2015. Since joining the Company, Huxley has performed featured roles in Agon, Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes, “Rubies” from Jewels, Romeo + Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Mercurial Manoeuvres, among many others.
This year, Alexey Minkin will star as our Nutcracker Prince! Alexey studied at the internationally-renowned Perm State Choreographic College. Upon graduating, he was hired to dance as a soloist at the Kremlin Ballet in Moscow, where he performed all the company’s classical and contemporary repertoire. He later moved to Latin America, where he performed both soloist and principal roles for Ballet Teresa Carreño in Venezuela and Ballet de Santiago in Chile. Alexey now dances with the Dimensions Dance Theater of Miami.
Nathaniel Otto, who first joined BBT as a guest artist in 2021, will return to Boca for The Nutcracker! He comes from the Huntsville Ballet and has taken classes in schools across the country, including Pacific Northwest Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre, and The Rock School for Dance Education.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Jeremy Zapanta back to the BBT stage! He is a soloist from Golden State Ballet. He graduated in 2013 with a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California–Irvine. Jeremy has danced as a soloist with California Ballet, San Diego Dance Theater, Malashock Dance, and the Traverse City Dance Project in Traverse City, Michigan.
Guest artist Andrew Harper has performed with Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Ashley Bouder Project, Ben Munisteri Dance Projects, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Opera Bordeaux, Theatre du Capitole, and Washington National Opera. He was a Kenan Fellow at Lincoln Center Education and holds a BFA in ballet performance from UNC School of the Arts. Most recently, Andrew was awarded a residency at the UNCSA Choreographic Institute and a Hicks Choreographic Fellowship at Jacob’s Pillow.
Finally, we are happy to welcome Dylan McIntyre to the BBT stage for the first time! Dylan started dancing at Palm Beach Ballet Center before moving to Tampa as a trainee with Next Generation Ballet. He started his professional career with Richmond Ballet’s second company. Since 2019, Dylan has danced with Ballet Memphis, Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, and Ballet Hispánico.
