Ring in the Holidays with the Magic of The Nutcracker

 

We’re counting the days until Edith Stein’s presentation of Boca Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker on Thanksgiving Weekend, November 25th–27th! Join us at the Olympic Heights Performing Arts Theater as Clara ventures into a world of magic, snowflakes, and sweets! Featuring a sparkling array of divertissements performed by world-renowned guest artists and a cast of BBBT’s talented dancers, this ballet is not to be missed!

Featured Guest Artists

This year’s production features principal guest artists Nayara Lopes and Austin Eyler of Philadelphia Ballet dancing the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.

Nayara Lopes trained at the School of Theatre Dance Guaira and at the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School before joining Philadelphia Ballet in 2016 as a member of the corps de ballet. She was promoted to Soloist in 2018, First Soloist in 2019, and Principal Dancer in 2021. Prior to Philadelphia Ballet, Nayara danced with Orlando Ballet II, the National Ballet of Canada, and the Dance Theatre of Harlem.

Austin Eyler spent his early years training with world-renowned teachers John White and Margarita De Saá. He attended several summer intensive programs on full scholarship, including American Ballet Theatre, the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School, and Campaneria Ballet School in Cary, North Carolina. Austin joined Philadelphia Ballet as a member of Philadelphia Ballet II in 2016. He was promoted to Apprentice in 2017, Corps de Ballet in 2018, Demi Soloist in early 2022, and Soloist in 2022.

Long-time BBT guest artist Lucas Segovia will return as our Nutcracker Prince in this year’s production! Lucas has danced for Ballet Argentino, The Washington Ballet, Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, and The Joffrey Ballet. We’re also excited to welcome Jeremy Zapanta back to the BBT stage this year! He is a soloist from Golden State Ballet. Jeremy has danced as a soloist with California Ballet, San Diego Dance Theater, Malashock Dance, and the Traverse City Dance Project in Traverse City, Michigan. Nathaniel Otto, who first joined BBT as a guest artist in 2021, will also return to Boca for The Nutcracker! He comes from the Huntsville Ballet and has taken classes in schools across the country, including Pacific Northwest Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre, and The Rock School for Dance Education.


The Gingerbread Ball

Join us for The Gingerbread Ball following the matinee performances of The Nutcracker on November 26th and 27th! Children will have the opportunity to come backstage and meet the cast of the show, including Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, the Nutcracker Prince, and more! Come see the amazing sets and costumes up close, take pictures with the performers, and collect autographs from the cast!
