BBT nominates Wendy Hasselman as 2023 Woman Volunteer of the Year!

Boca Ballet Theatre is pleased to nominate Wendy Hasselman for the Junior League of Boca Raton’s 2023 “Woman Volunteer of the Year” Awards! The Junior League will host its 36th annual award luncheon at The Boca Raton on Friday, November 10, 2023. This luncheon celebrates women who are nominated by local nonprofit organizations for their dedication and expertise as volunteers in the community.

Wendy has volunteered for BBT for over a decade, serving at the front of house, backstage, and in the studio as we prepare for our many performances, events, and auditions. For the past five years, she has taken the lead as our Front of House Manager during all of our performances. In addition to volunteering for BBT, Wendy has dedicated her time and talent to Kindness Matters 365, a non-profit foundation that delivers innovative programs to support the well-being of kids and teens, and Banyan Creek Elementary Drama Club.

When asked what has been rewarding about her time volunteering for BBT, Wendy said, “I am very proud of the work I did with BBT during the pandemic. Being able to help keep the dancing going when most schools had to close was very meaningful to me.” Wendy’s daughter, Amalia, is now studying at the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York, and yet Wendy still finds time to volunteer for BBT! We are so thankful for her support! It’s volunteers like Wendy who keep our company going!

We hope you’ll join us in congratulating Wendy next time you see her in the studio! Learn more about how you can support her at the Junior League’s celebratory luncheon in the link below!
