BBT Presents Summer Workshops for Ages 3 through High School!

Summer is right around the corner, and Boca Ballet Theatre is looking forward to another wonderful season of summer workshops! Whether you have a little one looking to start dancing or a high schooler with dreams of professional dance, we have a variety of workshop options to fit your needs! Read below to learn more, and be sure to register early!

Note: Auditions for the Summer Intensive Performance Workshop take place March 7th, 2020. More information available here.


Children’s Division – Creative Movement and Pre Ballet – These classes are for ages 3-6 on Saturday mornings June 13- August 1, 2020; (No Class July 4). Students will learn movement, musicality and the basics of ballet.


Youth Workshop A – is a 2-week summer workshop June 8 – June 19, 2020 for approximate ages 7- 9. Classes are designed for artistic development with enriching ballet related activities throughout the day. This workshop is a wonderful balance between learning and fun; it culminates with a presentation on Friday of each week.

Youth Workshop B – is a 3-week summer workshop June 8 – June 26, 2020 approximate ages 9-11. Classes are designed for artistic development with enriching ballet related activities throughout the day. This workshop is a wonderful balance between learning and fun; it culminates with a presentation on Friday of each week.

Youth Workshop C – is a 3-week workshop June 15 – July 3, 2020 for approximate ages 11-14. This is a great opportunity for aspiring dancers; they will be exposed to intense training in both technique and artistry. Classes include ballet technique, pointe, jazz and enrichment, culminating with a presentation on Friday of each week.

Intermediate Performance Workshop – July 6 – August 2, 2020. By audition only, one year of pointe required.. In this annual 4-week intensive there will be instruction in ballet technique, together with either jazz, character, modern or Pilates. Additional classes in pointe technique and variations will also be included.  Dance enrichment sessions will include: question-and-answer sessions with professional dancers, technical theater production, video critique of historic ballet performances, plus discussions on resume, make-up and audition skills. Learn how to work as a member of a group and put those skills to use while performing in Boca Ballet Theatre’s production of La Bayadere with Pennsylvania Ballet’s Sterling Baca and Nayara Lopes and San Francisco Ballet’s Sasha de la Sola.

Advanced Performance Workshop – June 29 – August 2, 2020By audition only, two years of pointe required. This annual 5-week intensive workshop with well-known and respected Artistic Directors Adam Sklute from Ballet West; Hope Muir from Charlotte Ballet; Robert Curron from Louisville Ballet and James Sofranco from Grand Rapids Ballet, who have agreed to use the workshop as an audition for their companies. There will be instruction in ballet technique, together with either jazz, character, modern or Pilates. Additional classes in pointe technique and variations will also be included.  Dance enrichment sessions will include question-and-answer sessions with professional dancers, technical theater production, video critique of historic ballet performances, plus discussions on resume, make-up and audition skills. The program culminates in a full-length production of La Bayadere with Pennsylvania Ballet’s Sterling Baca and Nayara Lopes and San Francisco Ballet’s Sasha de la Sola.
