BBT to Welcome San Francisco Ballet's Sasha De Sola and Aaron Robison for The Nutcracker
Boca Ballet Theatre is pleased to share that our upcoming production of The Nutcracker, presented by The Edith and Martin Stein Family Foundation, will feature two stars of the professional ballet world! San Fransisco Ballet principals Sasha De Sola and Aaron Robison will take the stage on Thanksgiving weekend as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
Sasha De Sola trained with the Kirov Academy of Ballet before joining the San Francisco Ballet as an apprentice in 2006. In 2007, she joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet. She was promoted to soloist in 2012 and principal dancer in 2017. In 2020, she was appointed Diane B. Wilsey Principal Dancer. Her roles with the Company include Kitri in Don Quixote, Myrtha in Giselle, principal dancer in Balanchine’s Diamonds, and Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Her accolades include a silver medal in the Professional Division at the 2017 World International Ballet Competition in Orlando, Florida.
Aaron Robison trained with Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and The Royal Ballet School in London. During his professional dance career, Aaron has danced with English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Corella Ballet, and Houston Ballet. In 2016, he joined the San Fransisco Ballet as a principal dancer. His accolades include a Dance Europe Critics’ Choice for Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer for Pita’s Salome in 2017 as well as Forsythe’s Playlist (Track 1,2) and Approximate Sonata in 2018.
