BBT's First Step Program Teams Up With the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County

Boca Ballet Theatre’s First Step Program, first piloted in 1999, is a special dance program designed for children in our community who are in need of extra support and mentorship. Since 2006, the First Step program has been generously sponsored by the Vegso Family Foundation, and this year we are thrilled to be teaming up with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County to welcome new students to our First Step program!

This spring, we were able to host First Step dance classes for first time since the beginning of the pandemic, and it has been wonderful to see our students again! In our First Step classes, students are exposed to ballet and modern dance in the supportive environment created by BBT’s dedicated faculty members. In addition to providing transportation for the youngsters, all of their dance wear and dance shoes are provided at no cost to the families!

Over the years, the First Step program has had a positive effect on our dancers and their families, so we cannot wait to join with the Boys and Girls Club to grow our First Step family and continue to share the gift of dance with our community!
