Boca Magazine spotlights Cindy Surman and BBT4PD's community impact

Boca Ballet Theatre is thrilled to share that Cindy Surman, director of our BBT4PD program, was recently featured in Boca Magazine’s November/December edition (p. 42). Maria Silveira’s article highlights Cindy’s efforts to bring the Dance for Parkinson’s Disease (Dance for PD) program to Boca Raton eleven years ago as well as her journey to becoming Florida’s only certified Dance for PD instructor. The article also celebrates the phenomenal work that BBT4PD has done in providing a supportive and engaging environment to those in our community living with Parkinson’s disease. Now in its 12th season, BBT4PD hosts large movement-based classes twice a week free of charge thanks to generous sponsorship from the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation and The Lisa and Mike Kelleher Fund.

Boca Ballet Theatre is so proud of this program and the director, assistants, and volunteers who support the students who join us each week for class. However, to have Boca Magazine recognize and share this story with readers only affirms the wonderful work that our program does for the community. We thank Maria Silveira for writing this feature and for sharing it with Boca Magazine’s readers.

We hope you will read and share this article so we can spread the word about BBT4PD and the incredible work it’s doing in our community!
