BBT announces Summer Dreams guest artists!
Boca Ballet Theatre’s mixed repertory performance Summer Dreams, set to take place on July 29–30, 2023, is sure to excite all in attendance! Not only will the show feature three guest choreographers but also two stars of the ballet world! This summer, we welcome NYCB principal Anthony Huxley and soloist Emma Von Enck to Boca for the first time. Anthony Huxley
Anthony Huxley began studying at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, in the summers of 2002 and 2003, enrolling as a full-time student from 2003 to 2006. He also studied at San Francisco Ballet School and the Contra Costa Ballet School. In October 2006, Huxley was asked to become an apprentice with New York City Ballet and joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in July 2007. He was promoted to the rank of soloist in July 2011 and to principal dancer in June 2015. Huxley has performed featured roles in Agon, Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes, “Rubies” from Jewels, Romeo + Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Mercurial Manoeuvres, amongst many others.
Emma Von Enck
Emma Von Enck began her dance training at the age of five at the Royal School of Ballet with Joanne Morscher. She later studied at the Cleveland School of Dance with Gladisa Guadalupe and the Cleveland Ballet Conservatory with Kerry Skuderin, and she attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet in 2011 and 2012. She enrolled as a full-time student at SAB for the 2012 winter term. In August of 2016, Von Enck became an apprentice with NYCB. As an apprentice, she originated a corps role in Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Unframed and danced featured roles in George Balanchine's The Nutcracker® and Nicolas Blanc’s Mothership. She joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in August 2017 and was promoted to the rank of soloist in January 2022.
