BBT Dancers Compete in YAGP and Future Stars Competition

 

Boca Ballet Theatre’s dancers had an exciting month, competing in the Youth America Grand Prix in late February and then Festival of the Arts BOCA’s Future Stars Competition in early March.Congratulations to all of the dancers who showcased performances here in Boca Raton!

The Youth American Grand Prix is the world’s largest international student ballet competition. It conducts regional auditions around the world with the Final Round of the competition held in New York City every April. A dozen of BBT’s dancers competed at the Miami/Boca Raton semi-finals on February 17-19th. Congratulations to Desmond Kanter, who placed in the Top 12 in the Pre-Competitive Classical Division (ages 9-11), and Jolie Lavaux, who placed 2nd in the Junior Classical Division (ages 12-13) and the Junior Contemporary Division (ages 12-14). Not pictured are Ella White, Olivia Castro-Videla, Desmond Kanter, McKenzie Dale, and Ava Allwardt, all of whom competed at YAGP. We are so proud of you all!

On March 7th, Jolie Lavaux performed in Festival of the Arts BOCA’s Future Stars Competition. Presented with the Rotary Club of Boca Raton, this competition featured some of South Florida’s top young vocalists and dancers.
