Summer Workshops
Young Dancer Mini Summer Intensive Workshops
In our one-week summer youth intensive workshops, BBT will provide immersive training for ballet students ages 9 and up in an encouraging, fun-filled environment! Each week, the workshop culminates with in-studio presentation! We have two workshop levels available in the Youth Mini Intensive:
Workshop 1: For dancers 9-12 years old, not yet on pointe. Daily classes will consist of ballet technique. Jazz, character dance, and enrichment sessions will also be included. Learn more here.
Workshop 2: For dancers 11 and up, on pointe. Daily classes will consist of ballet technique and pointe. Jazz, modern, and enrichment sessions will also be included. Learn more here.
Intermediate Summer Performance Workshop
Admitted students will take classes in ballet technique, pointe, and variation with either jazz, character, modern, or pilates classes taught by both resident and guest faculty. Dance enrichment sessions will include question-and-answer sessions with professional dancers, technical theater production, video critique of historic ballet performances, and discussions of dance careers. Advanced Summer Performance Workshop with Artistic Directors
Admitted students will take classes in ballet technique, pointe, variations, jazz, and modern. Additional classes in Pilates and hip-hop will also be included. Students will use classes to audition for visiting Artistic Directors. In dance enrichment sessions, students will meet and ask questions of the visiting Artistic Directors during the “Meet the Director” lecture series, learn what it is to be a member of a corps de ballet by dancing with some of the finest professional dancers in the world, and perform in a full-length concert with professional dancers.
